    I can only imagine the kinds of meeting their lawyers must have... like, do they honestly think that "this will teach 'em a lesson!"? Or is it maybe that someone was under quota for chasing down technicalities... Or is it just a case of "too big to care"? It's sad, but I am genuinely curious about some of the more convoluted reasons behind why this thing happens. The easy narrative is "the corporation is evil and greedy," and there's definitely an element of that doubtlessly baked into it. Also in there somewhere are some of the keys to solving the issue.
