Apple just held their new iPhone conference, and on top of the iWatch "surprise", there was also a set by U2 performing a single from their new album called "Songs of Innocence". Once they finished their set, they announced it will be released mid-October but all iTunes users can receive a copy before that free of charge. Shipping to 500 million iTunes users is bit of a one up of Jay-Z's Samsung Deal which landed Magna Carta on 1 million Samsung phones. The music business is a changin'.

For a recap of the Apple event including photos of U2 chilling on stage check out the Gizmodo coverage. I normally wouldn't drive traffic to Gizmodo but they did a decent live blog this time :P
